Ghana’s #PatrioticSpaces is the new toast of Twitter #

 


PatrioticSpaces will be held weekly on Twitter to discuss national issues aimed at getting the youth to be part of governance




Various members of the Twitterati have hailed the organisers of the recently held #PatrioticSpaces that brought back the spirit of patriotism and volunteerism among the Ghanaian youth.


Held under the theme: “Remembering our nation’s founders”, the virtual Twitter forum brought together people from all walks of life including academia, politicians, civil society organisations and the youth to brainstorm on Ghana’s Founders’ Day celebration, which was celebrated on 4 August

Kow Essuman, the Legal counsel to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, co-moderated the spaces that attracted over 1,200 participants on Twitter

Various speakers including the Minister of Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the deputy CEO of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Akosua Manu (Kozie), the Executive director of the Danquah Institute (DI), Dr Antoinette Tsiboe-Darko touched on how Ghana’s founders built the nation and how the youth can take advantage and make it better.


The various speakers and contributors agreed that it is important to remember our nation’s founders and the role they played for the independence and freedoms we enjoy today.
