Corruption hit Wassa Amenfi Central, Headteachers use GALOP and other funds for betting

 



It is the dream of every parent to see their children prosper in future. By so doing their wards are sent to school to have to have a better education. In accordance with this the president of Ghana has instituted free education to help the ordinary Ghanaian have a good life in future. Also funds and TLMs are given to school to ensure this purpose is achieved. This is quite different in the case of wassa Amenfi central.

The cases of corruption and embezzlement of funds has risen that if nothing is done today stop it , education in Amenfi central will be in crises. Amenfi central is one of the poorest and worse performed schools compared to other districts. The reasons are attributed to behaviors of some headteachers and education officers in the district.  When 2021 funds were released by GALOP and GET FUN( feeding grants) for heads to use such monies to purchase TLMS and other necessary things to aid improve education in the country. Someone headteachers in the district especially Anakum DA basic school in the Anakum circuit used the fund for betting that's over five thousand Ghana cedis (¢5000) . The headmaster also levied those who completed school last year an amount of Two hundred and five  Ghana cedis (¢205) for 'APOR' of which he spent the money. He also levied them 70 gh for classes of which he also spent it without giving any teacher a penny.  The pupils were also charged 50cides for BECE registration.

The same instance has accured this year .The children were charged 50 cedis for registration and the headteacher spent the money without registering them , later the staffs had to go and borrow money and beg before they were registered. The pupils were also charged 75 Ghana cedis for mock examination while the amount was 40 cedis. The worse of it  is that from form two the pupils were told they are going to be given Apor so they don't learn. It saddens me that a form three student can't even read nor write.  The headmaster who doesn't listen to his STAFF when he is confronted , he gets angry and insults the teachers and tell them he is not accountable to them. According to him no body can do anything to him because he has the DCE in his pocket. Earlier this term (second term )a team of officers who have been tracking him several months but didn't get him because of his absence from school   came to the school while he was away. It was registered in the school's log book that the headteacher has been demoted and his account was embargoed. He later came about a month ago and in their next visit they took money from him.  and was set free. Currently most teachers have sought for transfer and the few ones Left there are not willing to work with him again.His fraudulent act has extended from the school to even outside the school

Crocodiles stranded in Sissala - Severe drought hits water habitat

  Crocodiles are totems for some groups of people in Northern Ghana, particularly in the Sissala enclave of the Upper West Region. The people revere the crocodiles and, therefore, protect them from any harm. Aside the belief system, these reptiles have also put the area on the world tourism map. Side Chick Stabbed Cheating Husband

  The Police at Adenta in the Greater Accra Region are holding a young Ghanaian lady known on Instagram as Safina Diamond for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend. According to reports, Safina Diamond stabbed her boyfriend who just came back from Canada weeks ago multiple times in the neck and stomach leading to his death. It’s unclear what led to the incident as the Police have not officially stated reason for the action. the Report said the lady took the action allegedly in self-defence as she is currently being held by the Adenta Court. Unconfirmed reports indicated that the deceased is a married man, who left his wife to meet the suspect, who also has a boyfriend. Further reports indicated that the two persons, Safina, and her boyfriend have been remanded into police custody and the case adjourned to August, 12th, 2022.
