Liverpool have won the Community Shield after defeating Manchester City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium.

 

 


Jurgen Klopp's men started on the front foot and took the lead after 21 minutes through Trent Alexander-Arnold.


The full-back curled a shot in off the post, but it took a significant deflection off City defender Nathan Ake.


Eyes were on Erling Haaland throughout and he had City's best opportunities of the first half. He fired one straight at Adrian and failed to make proper contact with another.


 

Pep Guardiola's side, who have only played two games in pre-season, grew into the contest and started to test Adrian more in the second half.

Second half substitute Julian Alvarez found the equaliser midway through the second half after Adrian failed to hold Phil Foden's strike.


Foden was initially ruled offside, but a VAR review saw the decision overturned and it meant the Premier League champions were level.



It would not be VAR's final involvement in the game. Darwin Nunez's header was blocked by the arm of Ruben Dias and referee Craig Pawson was asked to review the incident.


He awarded Liverpool a penalty and booked Dias for his furious protests. Mohamed Salah stepped up and dispatched his spot kick with precision.

Crocodiles stranded in Sissala - Severe drought hits water habitat

  Crocodiles are totems for some groups of people in Northern Ghana, particularly in the Sissala enclave of the Upper West Region. The people revere the crocodiles and, therefore, protect them from any harm. Aside the belief system, these reptiles have also put the area on the world tourism map. In fact, the Sissala enclave's contribution to tourism through these reptiles is legendary. Side Chick Stabbed Cheating Husband

  The Police at Adenta in the Greater Accra Region are holding a young Ghanaian lady known on Instagram as Safina Diamond for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend. According to reports, Safina Diamond stabbed her boyfriend who just came back from Canada weeks ago multiple times in the neck and stomach leading to his death. It’s unclear what led to the incident as the Police have not officially stated reason for the action. the Report said the lady took the action allegedly in self-defence as she is currently being held by the Adenta Court. Unconfirmed reports indicated that the deceased is a married man, who left his wife to meet the suspect, who also has a boyfriend. Further reports indicated that the two persons, Safina, and her boyfriend have been remanded into police custody and the case adjourned to August, 12th, 2022.
