A/R:Atwima Nwabiagya North roads given facelift by Hon. Benito Owusu Bio
Work Resumes on Akropong-Bokankye Road after Several Appeals by residents and media men in Nwabiagya North.
The Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya North Hon. Benito Owusu Bio and DCE Hon. Rebecca Yeboah have a sigh of relief after the face-lift of the roads awaiting the actual construction of the abandoned roads for many years. NDC government did nothing about roads within the constituency as the only roads constructions which took place was under the administration of Former President John Agyekum Kufour, this has contributed to the bad state of roads especially roads linking to the district capital Barekese.
Many roads within the constituency was awarded by contract under the first term of president Akufo Addo-led government prior to election 2020 however, work on the road stalled when the ruling NPP took over the reins of government again after wining election 2020
The road deteriorated and became almost unmotorable whenever it rained, potholes and stagnant water had taken over the roads. Drivers and passengers kept complaining about the state of the roads with some cases of armed robbery attacks at night on the Akropong-Bokankye stretch.
There have been instances where Party communicators and constituency executives openly appealed to government and their member of Parliament for a quick intervention to immediately resume construction the roads.
Many roads in Ashanti region are in poor state, this necessitated the recent press conference by NPP Members of Parliament in Ashanti Region to meet president Akufo Addo seeking his quick intervention. Roads in Atwima Nwabiagya North is of no exception.
The condition of the road became a major headache to Hon. Benito Bio hence this intervention of facelifting
Constituency chairman Abdul Salam Issa who monitored the facelifting exercise has expressed happiness and thanked the member of Parliament, DCE and president Akufo Addo at large
However residents have called on the contractor to return to the road to complete the project to avoid its return to the previous bad state when the rains sets in
Chairman Abdul Salam issah who has been so elated at the speed and seriousness for the current face-lift exercise and how the contractor is executing the job to ease the plight of commuters has promised extension to other areas where the roads needs facelifts temporarily before actual construction and application of bitumen is done.
Checks has reviewed the facelifting is being sponsored by Hon. Benito Owusu Bio.
